I started learning to Kitesurf at the University of Plymouth back in 2007, and still remember the rush when I first got riding on my 13m strike 2. From then on I just kept on pushing to progress my riding, as well as developing the sport in the student community as President of Plymouth University Kitesurf Club. After Graduating Uni, I was at a bit of a loose end, so I obtained my Kitesurf Instructor Ticket and went to work for Allgoodfun in 2009. I spent an awesome summer pushing my riding, and developing my teaching skills. I enjoyed teaching Kitesurfing so much that I went on to train as a Science Teacher, to put my degrees in Marine Biology to good use. However before this, whilst completing my Masters Degree, I ended up competing in the First Ever Student Kitesurf Nationals at Calshot in March 2010, with a new set of 2010 Cabrinha Kites from Allgoodfun. I am now part of the events team for the Student Kitesurf Association (SKA), promoting safe and responsible Kitesurfing in the student community, whilst also running a 3 stop national student competition series, and a whole host of other training events across the UK for all levels of rider.
As far as my own riding goes, I have recently moved into riding in boots on sliders and kickers following the successful SKA Slider Jam, however I also like riding strapless (currently building a bi-directional skimboard for strapless riding). I am always up for kiting both in the UK and Abroad, having ridden in Spain, Morroco, Sicily and Egypt, with my home spots being Camber and Greatstone, but also Bantham and Daymer Bay in Devon & Cornwall. However I still think riding in the UK is unmatched (If you can handle the cold) offering everything from overhead waves to butter flat lagoons. Give me a 30 knot day at Greatstone in an Easterly over 30 degrees anyday!!!!!!!!!!!!!
